| Warwickshire have offered Panesar a three year contract. 5 reasons why Monty should join WARWICKSHIRE rather than Sussex: 1) First division and test match county which would no doubt enhance his chances of an England recall 2) The coach is an England selector! Bell and Trott are already in the England team! 3) In division one Dukes rather than Tiflin ball is used. He likes the Dukes bull but has really struggled with the Tiflin ball last season. 4) Birmingham has a large Asian community and so would find it much easier to integrate than in Brighton 5) Birmingham is about hour away from Luton and so he wouldn't have to move! |

| Warks would be good for Monty. I didn't know that Div 1 & 2 use different balls. Any reason ? Maybe it'll explain our own performances in the different divisions. |

Are you just making this all up, Mart - why would Warwickshire want Tahir and Panesar - sounds expensive to me |

| Simon, it's in the Northampton Chronicle. Sussex and Warwickshire have BOTH offered Monty a three year contract. Hence Kim's comment on 24-7 Cricket messageboard on the Sussex thread. If Monty is serious about trying to win back his England place he needs to be playing in Division One. He won't stand a better chance of an international recall than at Warwickshire where he would be playing Division One cricket and bowling with Duke's ball and playing for a county where one of the England selectors is the coach! Hampshire didn't sign Tahir because of concerns over how much he was going to be available next season. Obviously Warwickshire now have the same concerns. Hampshire also want to re-sign Tahir in 2011 meaning that they need to find a longer term solution to their spin attack. Warwickshire are a test match county so to them £375,000 is small change! Searchers - Dukes ball is used in international and Division One of the County Championship and Tiflin ball is used in Division Two. Monty would be a fool not to accept the Warwickshire offer! |

Yes, spotted that one Tim. Also interesting to see the following players from the same match have something in common : Amla, De Villiers and Boucher. It looks as though the return to the fold is complete. |
