Called off due to the heat - I bet the paying customers were chuffed to bits.

Can't remember that happening before - and this little heat wave is no record breaker.

pitchcroft has been a joke ever since summer jumping was introduced, although meetings were lost over winter the extra moisture always gave a better surface in the long term and I can remember many a meeting when there was simply not enough stable space for the horses entered such was the lush conditions to run on. Since switching solely to summer jumping the only excitement has been Alex Fergusons helicopter last month.

To the naked eye (and I am no expert) the track looks better than it has for some time. Can't help thinking that the current management don't give a flying kick about the standard of racing - just punters through the turnstiles.
