Well, I reckon he may well go far in the French Open.
But Wimbledon, no way Jose.
Of course we'll have the whole of June hyping him up, until he gets donked out in the quarters Neutral

Good. Now maybe everyone will calm down and there will be less pressure on him. I think his best chance to win a slam this year has gone though.

I agree- I think he is Aussie or bust; with the US an outside chance. I think Wimbledon will be his weakest surface- but expect the Press to have forgotten about that come June!

I don't rate murrey that much, for a start hes not even english!!!

He's always over rated at wimbledon, and i don't think he will eevr win wimbledon.

It's gotta be nadal or federer to win wimbledon this year, they are miles above the rest!!!

Can't stand the man, he hates the English, which isn't surprising given the alacrity with which the 'British' press started claiming him as our own instead of describing him correctly as what he is - A Scotsman, and since he doesn't like us he shouldn't be allowed to come and play in our little tournament in June. Close the gates at Hadrian's wall!!

Quite right, jm. No doubt Murrey will be glad of all the support he can get from the English tennis followers come Wimbledon.

He's a jock when it suits him but he would be nowhere without "British" backing. Cool

Well then gang, what do we think?
A Murray/Fed final?
Or will our British star fall at the wayside?

Murray's playing well but he's not exactly played any top ranked guys yet. I think he might run into trouble if he plays Roddick in the semi final. But Roddick is not Nadal, and since Nadal's not playing, I think Murray will most likely reach the final.

Cue mass hysteria from the British media...

Yep, the hype starts now definitely.
Should be a good old tournament, though I see the weather this week there is supposed to top 90 most days monkey

Whilst he's a dour, miserable Scot in the ungracious Alex Ferguson mould, there's no doubt that the boy can play and that he's got the bottle and self belief to go and do it. Henman always cracked under pressure, Murray won't. He could well win it.

I think the 'dour, miserable Scot' was a piece of dry sarcasm that went over most people's heads.....he is quite a character, and I think that this time he will be a Brit even if he loses...

No mate, he's always a jocko! He might have changed but is it because he has been advised not to alienate the rest of Britain? Cool

Murray vs Roddick will be a cracker, although I expect Murray to win as his returning is just too good for Roddick.
They played each other back in 2006 at Wimbledon and bearing in mind Murray was even unseeded and he battered Roddick on Centre Court 7-6 6-4 6-4 and Murray is a far better player now than he was then.

I think Haas vs Federer will be much closer than alot of people think, Haas was 2 sets up on Federer last month at the French Open and will certainly prove a much tougher opponent than he has faced so far.

But I really want to see both get through, as a Murray v Federer final would be fantastic, one thing I'd also like to add is that the forecast for tomorrows semi-finals is hot again, but for the final is possibly rain, so we could see an indoor final, surely this would benefit Murray more than Federer as Murray is a better indoor player now in my opinion and he has the advantage of his 4th round match against Wawrinka being played indoor from last monday.

Still can't believe that they have only lost about an hours play so far in the fortnight, it's just like the late eighties and early ninties!!!!

Agree with all that skershaw, been great to watch so far. The other night was a bit too tense for me though ! I reckon it'll be a Murray/Fed final >> heart says Murray, head says Federer.

His match will be the second one probably, starting around 3/4ish though Hass vs Federer could be a long one so it might start later.

I'd love Federer to get his 15th slam, but it would probably be better for the sport to have a different winner, and of course it would be great to have a british winner - could be inspirational, a kind of Ashes 2005 scenario (though probably without the open top bus parade).

Of course it might end up being Roddick and Haas in the final. In which case I'll be supporting Haas, the guy has been so unlucky with injuries and whatnot, it's about time he caught a break.
