We have cleared our flood debt. We were considering a replacement for Noffke and signing one out of Hoggard or Jones only a week ago. Now no overseas player, no Jones, no Hoggard and maybe no Davies and Whelan.

What has happened? Is it the drop in membership and hospitality? The loss of Apollo?

I thought there was a big new Sky contract and the Ashes is playing to full houses even on Day 5.

Where and why has it gone wrong and why so suddenly?

Some more details from the Newt would be ...

Have not seen this brought up anywhere else and I think it makes interesting reading. If this is what we are facing then you can see why Rhodes has not been chasing down all the things that seem to on so many peoples christmas wish list.

If the Harmmison number is correct then £150,000 a year is an awful lot of money in anyones book and I can well see why Rhodes is a)unable and b) reluctant to pay it.

Apart from the tiny percentage of members that see so much cricket, it works out cheaper, and a right to vote at the AGM.

I ask, because I saw many people walk across the ground, simply climb over the advertising boards, and enter the pavillion from the front. Now some may have been members but certainly not all.

What's the point of having a friendly gentleman at the rear entrance to the pavillion checking everyones membership, when others simply ...

I am unsure of how this is going to help revenue streams in genearl and particularly ours as the Pro 40 has been fairly well attended generally.

Before everyone tells me it is that we are rubbish etc etc etc, I am trying to be more analytical than that.

The problem is obviously coming from the dressing room somewhere but to my mind there are two possible answers to this and the solutions are so obviously diametrically opposite then it is vital to know this honestly.

Have just returned from the inaugural Coaches Conference held at Prince Henry HS by the Worcs Cricket Coaches Association. I reckon there were about 35-40 junior coaches there.

This was a whole day affair with Master Classes held by Ben Smith (batting, fielding), Steve Rhodes (keeping), Matt Mason (fast bowling) and Damian D'Oliviera (spin bowling). The Conference Opening was by Tim Lumb who made the journey to Evesham from London (I assume). There were a lot of junior cricketers from the ...

This is not a problem, we will look on the prospects of play to see what is there? Nothing useful!

It is currently just after 10-00 and the game starts at 10-45. It may be that the club has spoken to the weather boffins and they know something the rest of us do not but there is no indication that anyone has done anything since Friday when everyone went home. An "updated at" would help.

I've been meaning to post this for the last few weeks.

What has happened to the Mercury?

Previous years usually saw a double page on Worcs and Warwicks every Sunday, bar Winter Months.

Nowadays though, although the bears still generally get 2 or 3 articles, it's as if Worcs

don't exist.

Have we done a Fergie, and refused to talk to them, or are they upset with our Worcester News Ties.

Does anyone know what's going on.

I have regretted ever since that I didn't attend. With the current stream of posts and ideas regarding membership, are any Forumites planning to attend in what should be merely a matter of weeks now?

The winning county's playing staff £350,000, with an additional £150,000 being paid to the club itself. The total amount the counties will receive will rise to £1.06m, with next season's runners-up set to receive £225,000 instead of the £40,000 that was on offer in 2008.

Winners of the Pro40 championship and the Friends Provident Trophy victors will also see significant increases in prize money.

Following a relatively successful season (Promotion in 4 day, remain in Div 1 in Pro40) I think Bumpy should get some credit for the way the side have played this season. The players implement the plans, but the coach determines what they should be, and gives them the skills. It seems to me that all too often the coach gets the blame when things go wrong, and the players get the praise when they go well.

Credit also to Dolly, as the 2nd XI had their most successful season in 3 day matches ...
